Community pool at Mangatangi Primary School
The rural community of Mangatangi, nestled in the Firth of Thames, now has access to a swimming pool. The Mangatangi Primary School's Home and School Committee fundraised for five years to raise one-third of the funding required to apply for a Lottery Community Facilities grant.
The swimming pool supports water safety for school children, and also brings together different generations from the local community in summer.
The Hamilton Hāpai Hapori team supports the Lottery Waikato Community Committee and four COGS committees serving communities and neighbourhoods across the Waikato:
- Hauraki COGS committee
- Waikato West COGS committee
- Kirikiriroa Hamilton COGS committee
- Waikato South COGS committee
