Fellowships assist people to travel overseas to learn from others and study topics that will be of personal benefit, help them advance their occupation, trade, industry, profession or community and New Zealand in general. Fellows return to New Zealand with new knowledge, skills, inspiration and networks to share and support development in their field.
Requests for fellowships should show how you plan to use and share what you experience and learn on your return with others in your occupation, trade, industry or profession and in your community.
Her Excellency, The Right Honourable Dame Patsy Reddy, Governor-General of New Zealand is the patron.

We are interested in receiving more requests for fellowships in agriculture, science or technology and / or for learning from cultures in the Pacific and Asian regions. We would also welcome more requests from people living in communities outside of New Zealand’s larger cities, and from New Zealanders from all ethnic backgrounds, including Māori and/or Pacific peoples. Every two years the Governor-General hosts an award ceremony for Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Fellows who have recently completed their fellowships. The next event will be held this year. More details will be available closer to the time.
