What is the small community in Pipiriki doing for the tamariki in their community?

Laughter will be heard in the small Whanganui River community of Pipiriki when the new playground is completed.  The playground has been a dream for many years, a place where everyone can come together.  In 2019, things began to progress with a number of hui to discuss who would need to be involved, what resources would be required and by when.Picture of the community building the playground

Children and whanau came together to imagine what it could be like and where would be the best place for it to be situated.   After a playground upgrade in Taumarunui, the Ruapehu District Council were able to recycle some of the play equipment for the Pipiriki community playground and in the last few weeks the equipment has been installed and as the playground takes shape, dreams are being realised.  There are a few finishing touches needed such as picnic tables, signage and landscaping before it is officially opened but there are some very happy children and whanau ready to go.
