Community Internship Programme Previous Grants 2017/18

Deaf Aotearoa - Auckland $31,250 An intern from Kinetics Group, a commercial provider, will assist Deaf Aotearoa to improve their Information Technology (IT) strategy, to utilise technology efficiently and to train and mentor its staff in IT systems management, software and IT ecosystem. This internship will improve overall IT systems management, develop staff capability and enhance organisational sustainability.
Dwell Housing Trust $65,000 Housing NZ is releasing an intern to work with Dwell Housing on their assessment management systems and strategies. This will help Dwell Housing take a more strategic approach to asset management. Housing NZ will also be able to apply the knowledge acquired through assisting Dwell Housing Trust to other community-based housing providers.
Kahungunu Ki Tamaki-Nui-A Rua Trust $42,673 An intern from Te Tihi o Ruahine Wh?nau Ora Alliance Charitable Trust, will assist the organisation to build the capability to deliver services to M?ori and the community within a Whanau Ora framework. This could lead to increased services in areas such as education, housing, employment and social services.
KAtue Pasifika Trust $8,500 An intern from Deloittes will work alongside KAtue Pasifika Trust to review their current internal financial management processes and services against best practice process and systems and provide mentoring to the Financial Officer. This will strengthen the capacity of KAtue Pasifika Trust, who has a government contract, and as a lead provider and manages the financial accounts for 6 other providers in their region.
Migrant Action Trust $20,201 An intern from Praxis New Zealand will investigate the possibility of having the Trusts existing pre-employment training programmes aligned to the NZQA Framework. If this is possible it will increase the value of these programmes to their community.
The Wellington Boys and Girls Institute Inc $13,000 An intern from Tuia Charitable Trust will work with Wellington Boys and Girls Institute to provide cultural competency training to all staff and volunteers. They will also help evaluate and improve current programmes to ensure they are meeting the needs of rangatahi M?ori who use their services.
