The Trust and its records Peace and Disarmament Education Trust

The Trust was established on 3 May 1988, with money received from France in recognition of the events surrounding the destruction of the Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior in Auckland on 10 July 1985. The Trust’s objects are to advance education and promote international peace, arms control and disarmament.

The Trustee is the Secretary for Internal Affairs, who acts on the recommendations of the Public Advisory Committee for Disarmament and Arms Control (PACDAC), which advises the Government on disarmament and arms control.
