Making an application

Applications to the CPTHT must have
- goals and deliverables that are clearly linked to the aims of the Trust
- endorsement from a reputable organisation within the Chinese poll tax descendant community
- evidence that proposal and the organisation you belong to is not for profit
- supporting evidence from a referee who can verify the community benefits of your project
- a declaration of any other funding that has been provided for your project
Events
The CPTHT may, from time to time, support events that have clear links to the aims of the Trust. Applicants seeking funding for an event will, in addition to the information above, provide evidence that the event
- has obtained necessary resource consents (if required)
- complies with all relevant legislation and statutory obligations (e.g. occupational health and safety, public health, fire regulations, council bylaws, etc)
Sponsorship
The Trust may also sponsor activities or events from time to time. Applications for sponsorship of activities or events will need to meet the same requirements as any other application to the Trust, as set out in the relevant sections above.

Please note: Applications must be lodged at the Trust’s office, or postmarked, by the closing dates set out by the Trust.
Late applications will not be accepted.

*As the closing date for the next funding round to the Chinese Poll Tax Heritage Trust falls on Saturday 31 March, applications to the 2012 funding round will be accepted up until 5pm on 2 April 2012.
Accountability requirements
The accountability requirements for grant recipients are set out in the grant agreement.
Grant recipients are required to send in progress reports every six months and / or an accountability report at the end of the project.
Promoting CPTHT support
Grant recipients must acknowledge the financial support given by the CPTHT in all relevant publicity material, publications, annual reports and similar documents.
Information disclosure
Applicants should be aware that application information may be released, if required, under the Official Information Act 1982. After 10 years, all applications will be transferred to Archives New Zealand, where they will be available to members of the public.
All recipients of grants are published on this website.
