Can I apply for Peace and Disarmament Education Trust (PADET) funding?

Peace and Disarmament Education Trust funding is available to both individuals who are New Zealand citizens or permanent residents based in New Zealand and to independent, non-profit organisations or groups based in New Zealand.
1. The aim of PADET is to advance education that promotes international peace, arms control and disarmament. Is this what you or your organisation is seeking funding for?

No - The Peace and Disarmament Education Trust is set up specifically to provide grants that contribute to these aims. There are other grant opportunities, or the Funding Information Service may be able to assist in finding a fund that is better suited to your purpose.
2. The PADET priorities for project and postgraduate scholarship grants are: projects that advance education, that promote international peace, arms control, disarmament, and the resolution of conflict; and topics that are relevant to New Zealand disarmament and arms control policy. Does your project or postgraduate study fit within these priorities?

3. The Peace and Disarmament Education Trust makes two types of grant: project grants and postgraduate scholarship grants. Are you or your organisation seeking funding for one of these purposes?
Note about postgraduate scholarship grants: You can apply for up to $14,000 for a full year’s Master’s research thesis scholarship, and up to $21,000 plus $5,000 per year for up to 3 years for a PhD Doctoral thesis scholarship.
